Robust farmer representation is an essential part of the long term partnership we want to develop with our farmers.
We believe there are real benefits in working together with a fit for purpose representative structure in order to develop a greater understanding of the challenges we both face and our plans for the future.
The new MMG representative structure is based on a 21 member elected Farmer’s Forum who are responsible for electing the Farmer Board. Müller will consult regularly with the MMG Farmer Board on all matters relating to milk supply including milk price, operational terms and operational procedures.
The first Farmer’s Forum was elected at the end of March 2017 and held their first meeting in April 2017. Going forward they will meet on a quarterly basis.
Forum Representatives serve a three year term of office subject to an initial rotation to ensure all the Representatives are not up for election in the same year.
